Initial Thoughts

Initial thoughts I have regarding my magazine are:

  • Including a section containing information on support animals.
  • Including an advice column on how to deal with certain mental illnesses (ensure that I interview family and friends, record their name and date, and italicize that information after their statement.)
  • Include a section that contains information on how mental illnesses can affect not only the person struggling from it, but their families and friends.
It is important for me to take into consideration my weaknesses and strengths in writing, designing, and photography. I will list these attributes below:

Writing:
  • I have a large vocabulary and find it easy to replace "inappropriate" words/phrases with others that will match the formality of my writing.
  • I have experience in creative writing as I used to write fiction stories on the website "Storybird.com" at age 9.
  • I enjoy writing argumentative papers and therefore, would be great in developing a persuasive magazine which serves the purpose of speaking to its audience.
Designing:
  • If I were to relate designing to drawing/painting/sketching, I would consider myself a great designer.
  • I have experience in designing as I utilize an Adobe software at home called After Effects to make edits. The process of creating an edit utilizes plenty of creativity and brainstorming to get an adequate aesthetic.
  • When in elementary school, I wanted to become an architect or painter due to my passion for creating and developing things.
  • I'm great at choosing corresponding color schemes and designing a page layout.
Photography:
  • I have come to notice that I work best with inanimate objects, unlike humans or animals. My previous photography tasks in my Media Studies class have revealed this to me. Flowers/plants are my strongest aspects.
  • My iPhone consists of a camera that shoots with great quality. Therefore, I can produce images of high definition with no difficulty for my magazine task.
In conclusion, it is important for me to consider these attributes and utilize them to my full potential when working towards my final task.

The image below are a few sketches regarding the design, layout, and features of my magazine. You must note that changes will be made and that this stage of prototyping WILL NOT be your final draft.
